This modern bright home was once a dark, shabby-chic gem in the heart of Beverly Hills. Gone are the floor-to-ceiling Bermuda shutters, wall-to-wall carpet, crown moulding and ornate details, as well as the gold and burgundy kitchen, dated appliances, and bathrooms from a bygone era. With low concrete ceilings, the challenge was to bring light into this space without penetrating the concrete. The polished concrete floors, crisp white walls, clean lines and and contrasting accents make for a beautiful, modern oasis for the homeowner who loves to cook and entertain.

A tiny Powder Room is transformed to appear more expansive with a few simple hacks:
1- in-swinging door replaced by a pocket door allowing full access to the small room and its cabinetry.
2- infusing the space with light and an oversized mirror.
3- removing the walled off bump-out, thus exposing a rough concrete column, allowing us to create a floating shelf niche for hand towels, decor and accessories.
4- pull-out trash receptacle is stealthily integrated into vanity cabinets for a clean, modern look.

By removing the walled off bump-out next to the toilet, we discovered a rough concrete column which we then polished. With the gained space, we created a lighted floating shelf niche for hand towels, decor and accessories.

The transformation of the primary bathroom vanity began with the challenges presented by its dark and tight layout. Initially dominated by mirrored walls that concealed windows, the space felt confined and lacked natural light. During demolition, the hidden windows were uncovered, presenting an opportunity to enhance the ambiance significantly.
To further elevate the design, we introduced an oversized lighted smart mirror, which not only added functionality but also created the illusion of greater space. The installation of a single trough sink streamlined the counter area, providing ample room for everyday essentials while minimizing clutter.
Polished chrome fixtures were chosen for their sleek finish, adding a contemporary touch and enhancing the overall brightness of the room. We replaced the existing ornate pendant lights with elongated, thin light fixtures that complemented the updated aesthetic and provided even illumination throughout the space.
This renovation successfully turned a dark, cramped area into a bright, inviting primary bathroom vanity, blending modern design elements with the warmth of natural light.
